A healthier, happier YOU!

Mental health starts with WHOLE health! Here at Comeaux Counseling and Consulting, we want to support your journey to becoming your best “you”!

1) Practice Gratitude. A morning exercise of journaling at least 3 things for which you are thankful is a habit that will result in a happier life. I know it’s hard to focus on the good in your life when problems arise, but whatever we focus on becomes larger. Practicing gratitude shifts your perspective and results in a more positive outcome.

2) Prioritize healthy eating and exercise. Physical fitness is not only good for your body but affects your mental health. Daily exercise reduces anxiety and depression. Clean eating clears your mind and helps it process faster. Like a car, your brain functions best when it gets clean, high-quality fuel.

3) Reduce daily stress. Stress can have a negative impact on both your physical and mental health. Chronic stress downloads to your body which can affect your immune system and cause disease. Be proactive! There are many good strategies for reducing stress including meditation or prayer, journaling, mindfulness, yoga, exercises such as stretching, walking, running and many others.

4) Do at least one thing every day that makes YOU happy. You’ll feel more purposeful, increase your creativity and be more productive at home and work. Remember, we can’t pour from an empty cup. You must refill yourself daily.
