Tips for Working from Home

Balancing a work and home life can be a challenge, especially if you’ve never done it before. Now with the kids home, it’s even more of a challenge. Here are some basic tips to help with the transition during this Coronavirus Panemic:

1) Have a designated working space at home so you can separate your work life from home life.

2) Create a morning routine that starts your day off on a positive foot. Start off your day with a small at-home workout routine or read a motivational quote or devotional.

3) Schedule time for the tasks that you would like to accomplish and prioritize them starting from most important. Make a plan for the day but still remain flexible if everything doesn’t go as planned.

4) Set boundaries for when you’re working and don’t be afraid to ask for help from the kids to guard your time. It will make them feel a part of your accomplishments.

5) Celebrate the wins! At the end of each day write down all the great things that were accomplished for that day and share with the kids, your spouse or a friend.

Remember that all of the recent changes require an adjustment period and that takes time. Be kind to yourself and realize that you are doing your best. There’s a learning curve but you’ve got this!
