Self EsteemSelf-help

You are enough!

We all struggle with negative self-talk. If you have ever had the belief that you can’t do it, it won’t work out or you’re not enough, this just means that you are human. Chances are that you have had some type of negative thought today already but here are some tips to help you build your self-worth so you can live your life to the fullest.

1) It all begins with a thought. Our thoughts direct our attitude, perspective and behavior. “Stinkin’ think” can derail our day before it begins. Don’t let it! Always counteract darkness with light. Listen to an inspirational podcast or music, or reach out to that positive friend who always helps you put things in perspective.

2) Words have power. Yes, our words really do have the power to change how we see ourselves and our circumstances. What you say is what you believe. One exercise to practice is to replace those negative statements with a truth that is believable. Example: We may say, “I can’t do this.” Truth says, “With hard work and diligence, this is possible.” It may not work perfectly the first time but if you make it a habit, it will change your perspective, your confidence level and you will attract the resources and connections you need to be successful.

3) Positive self-worth is contagious, surround yourself with a good tribe. Negativity can spiral out of control without us even paying attention, so don’t try to deal with it alone. A supportive friend, partner or mentor that believes in you can counteract that negativity with some simple awareness that you are talking yourself out of being the gifted, capable person you really are!
